A lovely experience.
We stayed in the one of the shepherd's huts which were cosy and beautifully decorated, the extra touches; tea, coffee, and milk were a welcome surprise. A very comfortable bed to relax in with a cute little wood burning stove, although we didn't really need it. Tea in the morning sitting at the pond was a real treat. A lovely little camp site, Mark and Helen were welcoming and I would definitely recommend a stay there.

Weekend getaway
After changing the dates twice, due to Covid we finally got to stay in Logan. What a beautiful hut, with everything you need. The shower was lovely and warm. The weather was lovely but if it wasn't the log burner will soon warm you up. We didn't really need it but we had a fire anyway. A lovely calm place that we will go back to.

Gorgeous, quirky, brilliantly thought out. Love it, love it, love
Fantastic little site. Pitches separated with natural growth and with loads of space. Fire pit on every pitch, large covered areas for washing up and area with tables and chairs for sitting and eating. All made to look really rustic and quirky but it's all very functional at the same time. Things like the showers are in converted horse boxes. A shepherd's hut made into a canteen selling good quality sandwichs, rolls, coffee etc. The owners are just lovely and have mastered the art of there when you need them and not when you don't.
You know when you go into a really good hotel or restaurant and there are tons of little things, little details that add up to make it all seem effortless, smooth running, make you smile and relax, well this is the camping site equivalent. Can't recommend highly enough.

A lovely quiet and welcoming site.
Lovely welcoming owners. Spotless facilities. Handy fridges/freezer. Beutiful quiet location. Safe for children to play with other families and investigate the site. Lovely cofffee hut that does food and essentials and is reasonably priced. Private tent pitches with boundaries. Charging points undercover.
Will definately be back

Excellent Site
We've just come back from a wonderful stay at Purple Badger. It was an unusual area choice for us but we thought 'why not - we don't know around Rutland. The campsite is small with quiet time restrictions and no dogs policy (both of which we like!). The pitches were a good size, each with a firepit, and we liked the fact that the spaces between pitches were left uncut.
There's a daytime cafe on site (where we could get oatmilk flat whites), and they're soon to be selling pizza.
There are charging stations, two loos, two wash-up stations and two showers in a horse trailer!
The hosts were very helpful and informative about places to visit. We had a fabulous day at Rutland Water nature reserve watching the osprey!

A totally chilled break with the kids
This place is beautiful, has everything you could possibly need from toilets and showers tastefully decorated to fridges, food/coffee hut, ice packs and even charging points for phones and hair straighteners which made all the difference to me! We stayed in the furnished Millie tent and it’s huge. The boys fished on the lake a few days and caught plenty of fish. Plenty of space between pitches too so you don’t feel hemmed in by others. Mark the owner is really helpful. Our lamp had ran out of batteries so he came straight down with a couple of torches and a head torch then the following day he delievered 2 brand new lamps. Would definitely highly recommend!

Lovely chilled campsite with everything you need!
We stayed here (2 adults & an 11 year old) for 4 nights as a base to explore Leicestershire and were really pleased with this lovely campsite. Easy access to Leicester and surroundings. Very peaceful and friendly. Loved the quirky showers! Our son enjoyed the table football especially and there were several other nice kids for him to play with over the four days. Toilets, showers and washing up facilities were always clean and well-stocked (loo roll etc). We really appreciated being able to use the fridge and freezer as well as power points for charging our phones. Each pitch is spacious, private and has its own fire pit, which was lovely, and wood is available to buy. There is a great coffee cart open 8-4:30 selling barista coffee, muffins, snacks & hot rolls. Would have been great to have had vegan options though. However there are veggie marshmallows for sale for toasting on the campfire, which is great. The lake is lovely and very peaceful to walk round/sit and gaze at! Would recommend this to anyone wanting a small, chilled campsite. They’re also in the process of building a pizza oven!

Great camping site
We have had a great time at Purple Badger fishing and camping site. Everything was very nice and clean , we stayed for 3 night in Val tent and was a very nice experience as first time camping for us and our 2 kids. We enjoyed seeing so many families with their kids and watch the children playing together in a nice and safe place . Will definitely go back and recommend to our friends and family.

Gorgeous boutique little site with a relaxed vibe
An awesome boutique campsite. Beautifully landscaped with natural grass separating the pitches. Each pitch has a ready made fire area with wood available in the lockers. The site has a fridge and a freezer! And….an adorable coffee hut selling drinks, and snacks. The toilets and showers were clean, cosy and gorgeously designed. I would highly recommend it - especially for a romantic couples getaway

Absolutely brilliant!
This was one of the best camping experiences we've had. Some gorgeous quirky touches and so peaceful. We are definitely coming back again without any hesitation. The wheelbarrows to get your luggage were such a great touch and the kids loved helping because it was fun! The badgers den and chicken shed were great places when the weather was a bit rubbish. The fire pits per pitch were great and so helpful having the logs waiting for you if you needed them in cages and a pay as you use kind of scheme. Really lovely for sitting around in an evening. The owners were so lovely, chatty and friendly and super helpful with discussing future group bookings. Literally couldn't fault a thing! Thanks guys 😊

Little paradise on earth
What an amazing experience! We stayed for 3 nights in one of the Shepherd’s huts and we absolutely loved it. The cabin had all the essential and was comfortable, spotless and surprisingly roomy. The weather was amazing and after visiting few places around we just enjoyed relaxing outside the hut with few drinks and stunning views. The hosts were very friendly and helped us with any questions we had. Another added bonus to this wonderful stay was morning trips to get a coffee and a bacon sandwiches from the coffee cart on site - what a wonderful idea! We were so sad to leave but cannot wait to come back again soon! Thank you!
